Special Education Teacher (LBS1) – $50/hr – Aurora, IL – In-Person – 12 WeeksPosition Overview:
The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, provides high-quality instructional and behavioral support to K–12 special education students. This role supports individualized instructional planning, reading intervention, academic support, and consultation with general education staff while participating as an integral member of the student support team.
Assignment Details:
Location: Aurora, IL
Start Date: 03/16/2026
End Date: Approximately 12 weeks (through end of school year)
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Hours: 35 hours per week
Pay Rate: $50/hour
Modality: In-person

Details of Assignment:
Grade Level: Middle School
Caseload: 7th-grade case management assistance
Focus Area: Reading intervention with S.P.I.R.E. program familiarity preferred
Tech-savvy candidate strongly preferred due to program and instructional app usage
Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Breaks: Not specified
Requires strong understanding of current instructional interventions and middle-school support needs
Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction and academic support for 7th-grade students
Support reading intervention programming, including S.P.I.R.E. or similar structured literacy tools
Manage IEP updates and documentation
Collaborate with general education teachers and instructional teams
Provide tutorial assistance and support within small-group or push-in settings
Maintain compliance with professional standards and student documentation requirements
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university preferred
Valid state teaching certificate
Preferred certifications:
Standard Elementary Teaching
Standard Secondary Teaching
Standard Special Teaching
Required endorsement: LBS1
Minimum one year of teaching experience preferred
CPR certification if applicable
TB screening and health certificate per state guidelines
Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age
