Compensation for this role: $35.00 to $45.00 per hour
OVERVIEW:
The Production Manager supervises all prefabrication (prefab) shop personnel, taking ultimate accountability for projects or a subset of projects. Directs the tasks of staff and participates in welding and fabrication work. Develops long-term relationships with the field, promoting and assisting Encore’s prefabrication shop’s full range of capabilities and benefits while acting as the conduit between the field and the prefab shop

Specific Responsibilities
Welding and fabrication
Estimate and set labor budgets for one-line and construction power
Design assists the field teams and VDC with one-line and construction power builds
Work closely with logistics and fellow production managers to set lead times and scheduling
Work closely with Engineering department and Asset Manager on the construction power program and inventory
Maintain construction power equipment through commissioning and decommissioning processes
Order material for builds as needed and transfer inventory
Manage work orders through Bluebeam, Remarcable, Spectrum and PowerBI
QA/QC all one-line and construction power builds
Communication/Safety/Quality Control
Ensure employees follow policies and procedures, including:
Police and enforces company cell phone usage
Takes accountability for counseling and coaching employees, while acting as a witness to proactively address potential issues
Ensure employees work safely wearing all proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Perform daily huddles, safety minutes, roll call and stretch and flex
Manage and correct any grievances or behavior problems
Recommend and supervise any necessary training
Ensure the crew has adequate tools
Take a piece of the overall job on larger projects such as one-line, fire alarm, branch circuits, site lighting, equipment (mechanical or pool, etc).
Read and understand contract documents for project
Responsible for promoting prefabrication to the field teams
QA/QC Liaison
Give prefab technical knowledge and operational expertise to propose relevant project solutions
Attends internal kick-off meetings to discuss prefabrication ideas with the project team
Order needed material for projects
Continued communication and improvement with field teams about changes or shortages
Visit project sites to discuss projects prefabrication needs
Inform prefabrication team of issues that field teams may have and devise ways to avoid them in the future
Motivate crew and project
Preplan the project to stay at least two weeks ahead of crew, including:
Orders material and tools for the prefab fabrication shop floor, ensuring available for the crew
Acts conscientiously about costs
Orders prefab for jobsite
Keeps a daily to do list
Understands abilities of crew
Schedules and accurately man loads crew communicating with foreman
Prioritize according to the needs of the project and the customer
Take accountability and responsibility for quality control and productivity in area and:
Catch and correct errors
Ensure employees are safe, complete tasks correctly and then work on speed
Communicate goals for the job site to employees working at all levels of Encore Electric, Inc. using the tell-back procedure
Communicate and coordinate with other trades for the project
Lead by example
Orientate employees to safety, logistics and scope on the jobsite
Walk the shop with new employees and employees from the office/new hire orientation
Effectively communicate and define employee’s role with them on the project, ensuring employees understand how they fit into the overall job and how the manager wants their work done
Effectively communicate with superiors
Read and understand basic blueprints
Handle material required for the job
Perform duties as assigned by supervisor
Take accountability for a clean and safe work area
Enforce 50/100 rule
- One person can carry no more than 50 lbs., no two people should carry more than 100 lbs.
Enforce 5 second 5 feet rule
- All material can be accessed within 5’ or 5 seconds
Responsible for overall man loading
Other duties as may be assigned

REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or equivalent is required with a degree in related field being preferred. At least five years’ experience as a welder and production Leader in a manufacturing environment with knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles is preferred. Experience with quality control processes and strong managerial experience – leadership of team of 10+ people is also preferred. Demonstrated leadership skills are required. Ability to obtain and maintain certifications through 6G AWS D1.1 structural welding.
