SUMMARY: This position helps students learn subject matter and practice skills that contribute to their\ development as mature, able, and responsible young men and women.\ ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.
Teaches district approved curriculum.
Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and times designated.
Plans programs of study that meet individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
Recognizes learning problems and makes accommodations.
Evaluates pupils academic and social growth, keeping appropriate records, and preparing\ progress reports.
Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate for the maturity\ and interest of the students.
Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
Guides the learning process towards the achievement of curriculum goals and\ establishes/communicates clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects.
Is available to students and parents for educational-related purposes outside of the instructional\ day.
Maintains confidentiality of student information.\ SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Students

Bachelors degree\ CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Kansas teaching certificate with appropriate level and endorsement required\ LANGUAGE SKILLS:
To read, analyze, and interpret periodicals and professional journals.
To write reports, correspondence, and lesson plans.
To effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of students,\ parents, and the general public.\ MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Requirement varies. At a minimum, to apply concepts such as\ fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical solutions. Ability to apply concepts of\ basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY: To solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete\ variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. To interpret a variety of\ instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.\ OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIES:
To apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional program
To plan and implement lessons based on school objectives and the needs/abilities of\ students to whom assigned
To establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and the\ school community
To communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written communications
Ability to perform duties under the demands of multiple tasks and directives occurring\ simultaneously
To perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education\ policies
