Senior Staff System Engineer

THE POSITION
Senior Staff System Engineer, AUMOVIO Systems, Inc. f/k/a Continental Automotive Systems, Inc., Auburn Hills, MI:
Develop architectures and systems for commercial vehicle specific projects related to chassis and breaks. Review customer system engineering products and system architecture requirements and derive technical and functional internal requirements/solutions for development. Support feature/function owners with definition of interfaces between identified system components on system, sub-system and component level. Identify homologation relevant tasks within feature/function/architecture development and apply necessary changes accordingly to ensure that the final work product can be homologated in the respective market (i.e. NA, EU, JAP, AUS). Vehicle architecture adaptation to add Electric Vehicle (EV) powertrains to current Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicle platforms or to add proven automotive technology to non-automotive applications with the least amount of architecture and interface changes. Wiring harness and fusing concept layouts for startup vehicle companies and non-automotive customers.
Telecommuting permitted up to 4 days per month.
Full time employment, Monday -- Friday, 40 hours per week.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate, related work experience.
Of the required experience, must have 5 years of experience in each of the following:
- Automotive Electronic and Electromechanical products;

``` - Developing test systems used in manual or automated tests according to project requirements and specifications; and

``` - Collaborating with team in verifying and reviewing the vehicle and lab systems validation test specification and reports.
Of the required experience, must have 4 years of experience in each of the following:
- Engineering problem-solving techniques, worst case analysis, and failure analysis.
