Job Description
Codeworks, an LRS company, is seeking a QA Analyst for a contract opportunity. This position provides the opportunity to apply your testing, analysis, and QA methodology experience to support key initiatives for one of our client partners.
We are seeking a QA Analyst to contribute to high‑quality software delivery across web, mobile, and API services. The role includes test planning and execution, defect tracking, collaboration in Agile ceremonies, and continuous improvement of QA practices in partnership with cross‑functional teams.
Responsibilities
Plan, design, and execute tests to validate functional and non‑functional requirements.
Participate in Agile activities (e.g., sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, reviews), including estimating QA effort and communicating test progress and risks.
Analyze requirements/user stories for clarity and testability; identify gaps, assumptions, and dependencies.
Develop test scenarios and test cases using a range of testing techniques.
Use test and defect management tools (e.g., JIRA) to record, track, and report defects and results.
Perform API testing (e.g., Postman, SOAPUI), database validation (SQL), and, when required, Unix‑based checks.
Support testing across multiple environments; prioritize and context‑switch effectively.
Recommend and help implement improvements to QA processes, standards, and tooling.
Contribute to accessibility, usability, reliability, and performance considerations as part of overall quality.
Required Qualifications
5–8 years of QA experience (or equivalent combination of experience and demonstrable skills).
Practical knowledge of QA methodology, process/standards adherence, and test design techniques.
Agile testing experience (contributing during sprint planning, estimation, daily stand‑ups, and reviews).
Experience with requirements ambiguity analysis, test scenario/case development, and test effort estimation.
Familiarity with test & defect management tools (e.g., JIRA or similar).
API testing experience using Postman or SOAPUI (required).
Working knowledge of SQL and familiarity with Unix environments.
Ability to manage testing across multiple environments and priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
Clear, respectful written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience testing mobile applications (Android and iOS).
Exposure to connected vehicle services or automotive industry platforms.
Comfort with scripting, data set‑up, or lightweight automation in support of functional and API testing.
Tools & Technologies (Examples)
Test/Defect Management: JIRA (or similar)
API Testing: Postman, SOAPUI
Databases: SQL (any major RDBMS)
Operating Systems: Unix/Linux
Mobile: Android, iOS
The base range for this contract position is $30.00 - $42.00 per hour, depending on experience. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all U.S. locations. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors.
