Overview
Recreation and Wellness at Auburn University (https://www.recwellness.auburn.edu/) is excited to recruit an Administrative Desk Student Assistant ! This position is based at the Recreation and Wellness Center administrative desk on the Mezzanine level and serves as a friendly first point of contact for the department. Responsibilities include answering phone calls, greeting guests and visitors with appointments, and providing general administrative support.
This role is essential in maintaining front desk coverage when the full-time Administrative Support Associate is away from the desk, such as during lunch or meetings. The student assistant is expected to communicate professionally and courteously, respect confidentiality, and adhere to all guidelines outlined in the employee handbook, as well as departmental and university policies.
Responsibilities
Greet visitors in a cheerful and welcoming manner to create and maintain an atmosphere that cultivates long-term participation.
Assist visitors with questions or directions as needed.
Answer the desk phones in a cheerful and welcoming manner.
Assist callers with inquiries and direct them to the correct resources as needed.
Assist team members/staff with various office projects and activities.
Assist in general office tasks such as data entry, filing, scanning, and shredding documents, as needed.
Utilize Fusion software for point of sales transitions and reporting.
Maintains confidentiality regarding incoming clients and services provided.
Qualifications
Enrolled student at Auburn University
Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0
