Summary

It is the responsibility of the Supervisor Operations to lead, supervise, and support the operations team at show site and in the Branch Office while keeping job costs at the lowest possible level and maintaining quality and safety standards. Professionally interacts with customers, team members, and third-party vendor/partner representatives to provide the highest level of service excellence. Promote and maintain a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with all safety policies and regulations, holding self and team accountable, actively communicating safety expectations, and supporting continuous improvement in safety practices.

This position will support our Event & Exhibit Services team. The position follows an in-person schedule working full-time in-office and/or show-site based out of Atlanta, GA.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise team members. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies and applicable laws. Train team members, appraise performance, reward, and discipline team members. Participate in the hiring and firing decisions as required. Address complaints and resolve problems with team members.

  • Plan, organize, and direct Operations Department activities to ensure 100% customer satisfaction.

  • Study production schedules, estimate team member hour requirements for completion of job assignment, and assign standby labor, as necessary. Work with account executive to be sure their needs are met.

  • Schedule area foreman and place labor calls.

  • Schedule radios, scooters, scissor lifts, boom lifts, trailers, trucks, and forklifts as required.

  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to team members, and assign duties as appropriate.

  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.

  • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of department, or crew.

  • Lead operations team members in maintaining high morale and work standards and build teamwork among the department.

  • Maintain time and production reports.

  • Estimate, requisition, and inspect all job-related materials.

  • Confer with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.

  • Perform activities of team members supervised as needed.

  • Prepare labor requirements and always ensure adequate coverage. Schedule move-in and move-out time to eliminate as much overtime as possible.

  • Ensure operations team members comply with company policies and adhere to all safety guidelines.

  • Maintain communication with the Account Executive and the Service Desk and advise of any problems that may affect their operation.

  • Prepare initial accident reports in accordance with the Risk Management Manual.

  • Ensure operations equipment is well maintained and that housekeeping meets company standards.

  • Submit final paperwork to the Operations Director including reports on team member performance, shop cooperation, and material usage of the show.

  • Communicate and reinforce company safety objectives, programs, and policies within the team. Ensure employees complete required training and understand their safety responsibilities.

  • Maintain compliance with company safety policies and applicable OSHA regulations.

  • Investigate and document workplace accidents, near misses, and hazards promptly, and implement corrective actions as needed.

  • Lead by example by encouraging open communication on safety concerns and fostering accountability for maintaining a safe work environment.

  • Track and review safety performance metrics, using insights to support decision-making and corrective actions.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Two years of supervisory experience.

  • Two years of show site freight, decorating and/or I&D experience.

  • Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel.

  • Working knowledge of workplace safety practices and applicable OSHA requirements.

  • Demonstrated ability to apply and uphold safety policies, ensure compliance with regulations, and contribute to a proactive safety culture that reduces incidents and improves safety outcomes.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Forklift certification may be required.

  • OSHA 30 Certification required.
