IRIS Consulting Corporation Site Reliability Engineer in Atlanta, Georgia

Pay range: $52.98 - 62.98

Plus Health, Dental, Vision, Short Term/Long Term Disability, and Group Life pending eligibility

The Systems Engineer is focused on the design, construction, testing, implementation and optimization of infrastructure systems. '-Investigates and resolves level 1 problem on network infrastructure hardware. -Utilizes standard tools to analyze, identify, and resolve technical problems. '-Serves as an escalation point for level 1 problem or incident management. -Analyzes performance problems and recommends solutions to enhance functionality, reliability, and/or usability. -Serves as a liaison between the customer, suppliers, and other technical groups to resolve problems. -Performs high level analysis of complex network system integrations. -Applies specialized knowledge in network infrastructure to conceptualize, design, construct, test, implement, and optimize network infrastructure. '-Leads teams to provide advanced design, architecture and diagnostic support. -Responsible for the design, configuration, development, integration, implementation of network solutions. -Combines a good understanding of IT with a considerable knowledge of industry, business function, or service offering in the engagement.

Quals--

6 + years of experience required

Top must have skillsets:

  1. AWS Knowledge especially on Serverless services and Deployment services like CFT, IAM and Pipelines.

  2. Linux / Bash / YAML script knowledge

  3. Docker / Kubernetes knowledge

  4. Gitlab CI / CD integration or any Version control system CI / CD Integration

  5. Monitoring workflows like Grafana / Prometheus Rules / Logging systems.

Install, configure, and maintain DevSecOps tools to support and enhance CI/CD pipelines.

Develop scripts to automate specific stages of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Contribute to the design, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of cloud infrastructure using advanced tools, while troubleshooting infrastructure-related issues.

Design, implement, and continuously improve monitoring, alerting, and feedback systems; respond to operational incidents as needed.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

3+ years of hands-on experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering roles.

Technical Skills

Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps tooling such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.

Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, or Groovy.

Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and automated deployment practices.

Experience designing and managing cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM/Bicep).

Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).

Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

Practical experience implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, ELK stack).

Security & Reliability

Understanding of DevSecOps principles, including secure pipelines, vulnerability scanning, and access controls.

Experience troubleshooting infrastructure and application performance issues in production environments.

Knowledge of high availability, disaster recovery, and system resilience best practices.

Soft Skills

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex operational issues.

Ability to collaborate effectively with development, security, and operations teams.

Excellent communication skills, including the ability to document processes and explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to incidents in fast‑paced environments.

Preferred Certifications (Nice to Have)

Cloud provider certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Administrator/Engineer, Google Professional Cloud Architect).

DevOps or security certifications such as CKA, CKAD, or DevSecOps-related credentials.
