Mechanical Engineer – Nuclear Design (100% Remote)Design the Future of Energy—From Anywhere

We’re seeking a Mechanical Engineer – Nuclear Design to deliver high‑impact engineering solutions that support the safety, reliability, and long‑term performance of nuclear and power generation facilities. In this role, you’ll solve complex mechanical challenges, guide projects from investigation through implementation, and collaborate with top technical experts across the energy sector—all while working 100% remotely.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead mechanical engineering projects by analyzing complex technical challenges and delivering practical, compliant solutions

  • Provide expert guidance on mechanical design and construction methods for nuclear and power generation systems

  • Perform and review complex engineering calculations and technical design deliverables

  • Lead investigations, modeling efforts, prototype studies, and system‑level analyses

  • Ensure designs meet all applicable codes, standards, regulatory requirements, and Quality Assurance expectations

  • Define performance specifications for mechanical components, equipment, systems, and processes

  • Apply principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials science

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to manage interfaces and understand design impacts

  • Support engineering schedules and resource planning

  • Apply and support engineering change control processes

  • Build trusted relationships with utility and station customers through clear, technically sound communication

What You Bring

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program

  • 4–12 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience

  • Nuclear industry experience OR experience supporting related power generation facilities (e.g., fossil, thermal, or combined‑cycle power plants)

  • Working knowledge of mechanical design codes, standards, and regulations applicable to nuclear or large‑scale power generation facilities

  • Experience working within Quality Assurance–driven environments (nuclear QA preferred)

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and mechanical engineering design tools

  • Proven ability to perform and review complex calculations and design documentation

  • Strong time management skills and ability to juggle multiple priorities

  • Ability to interface confidently with utility and plant stakeholders

  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

Nice to Have

  • Direct nuclear plant design or modification experience

  • Experience supporting power plant lifecycle projects, upgrades, or system modifications

  • Familiarity with Engineering Change Control processes

  • Project engineering or technical leadership experience

  • Interest in long‑term growth in nuclear and power generation engineering

  • Thrives in a fast‑paced, technically rigorous environment

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Atlanta, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $90.00/hr.
