Wayfair Lead, Retail Cabinetry Design, Wayfair Branded Stores in Atlanta, Georgia

Salary Range: $71,000 - $77,000 per year

*NOTE: This role offers a target bonus opportunity of approximately $10,000 annually based on expected sales performance, with uncapped earning potential tied to your results.

Overview:

At Wayfair, we believe a home should be as functional as it is beautiful, and that starts with great design. As a Lead of Retail Cabinetry Design , you will play a critical role in accelerating the growth of our custom cabinetry business across our expanding fleet of Wayfair stores.

This role blends high-level design execution, sales leadership, and cross-store coaching. You will drive your own book of cabinetry business, leading complex projects from full-scale kitchen remodels to custom office spaces and beyond. At the same time, you will support and elevate cabinetry designers across our stores through hands-on coaching, structured training, and new store launch support.

You will partner closely with Store Leaders and Assistant Store Managers to strengthen designer performance, refine processes, and influence the broader cabinetry strategy. This role is based out of our Atlanta store three weeks per month, with travel one week per month to support our additional store locations in Chicago, Columbus, Yonkers, and Denver.

What Does A Lead of Retail Cabinetry Design Do?

  • Drive Cabinetry Sales Performance: Build and manage a strong book of cabinetry business, overseeing multiple large-scale projects simultaneously. Conduct in-store, in-home, and virtual consultations, guide customers from initial inspiration and sample requests through 3D renderings and order placement, and consistently exceed sales targets.

  • Own End-to-End Project Execution: Lead complex cabinetry projects from concept to completion, ensuring accuracy, technical precision, and a seamless customer experience throughout the design and purchasing journey.

  • Provide Design and Technical Expertise: Leverage your kitchen and interior design experience to support customers and coach designers. Serve as a technical resource across stores, ensuring best practices in layout development, rendering accuracy, and specification details.

  • Coach and Develop Designers: Deliver on-the-floor, specialized coaching to cabinetry designers across multiple locations. Conduct monthly one-on-ones focused on performance and skill development. While you will not have direct reports, you will partner closely with Assistant Store Managers to identify opportunity areas and elevate team performance.

  • Train and Onboard New Designers: Lead cabinetry training during new store openings and for new hires in existing stores. Support onboarding so designers complete ramp fully prepared to meet performance expectations.

  • Shape Cabinetry Presentation and Awareness: Contribute to the strategy for in-store cabinetry presentation, including vignette design and build-out for new locations. Help increase local awareness of Wayfair’s cabinetry offering and support lead generation efforts to drive qualified traffic.

  • Support Ordering and Escalations: Review renderings for accuracy, guide designers through ordering processes, and assist with post-order issues. Address customer escalations and partner with cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure resolution.

  • Influence Category Strategy: Use insights from your sales performance and coaching work to inform the broader cabinetry roadmap and strengthen the retail cabinetry experience across markets.

  • Travel to Support Store Growth: Travel 25 to 50 percent of the time to support store needs, including designer development, installations, and new store openings in Chicago, Atlanta, Yonkers, and Denver.

    You’ll Thrive in this Role if You Have:

  • Cabinetry Design Expertise: 3+ years of experience as a kitchen and bath designer, with strong proficiency in 2020 and Design Flex applications. High technical proficiency is essential.

  • Leadership or Coaching Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a management, training, or coaching role, with a demonstrated ability to influence performance and elevate others.

  • Proven Sales Success: A track record of exceeding sales targets and influencing or directly leading others to achieve strong commercial results.

  • Technical Acumen: Ability to read and interpret architectural and shop drawings with confidence and precision.

  • Retail Experience: Experience operating in a retail or showroom environment with a consultative, customer-first approach.

  • Commercial and B2B Expertise: Established experience working with B2B customers and driving revenue growth through prospecting and local marketing efforts.

  • Project Management Strength: Ability to manage multiple large-scale projects simultaneously while maintaining organization, detail, and follow-through.

  • Travel Flexibility: Ability to travel 25 to 50% of the time to support store needs across markets.

  • Bonus Points For: Experience in visual merchandising, product staging, or installation, f amiliarity with CRM platforms such as Salesforce, e xperience working with B2B customers or contractor, p rospecting, local marketing, or lead generation experience

    Additional Physical and Environmental Requirements :

  • Physical Activity: Frequent standing, walking, and reaching with hands and arms; occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, and crawling

  • Mobility & Movement: Frequent stooping, kneeling, and crouching throughout the day.

  • Lifting Ability: Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs independently on a regular basis. Some projects may involve heavier items, which must be managed with proper assistance or equipment.

  • Vision Requirements: Includes close, distance, color, and peripheral vision; depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

  • Temperature Flexibility: Comfortable in environments with varying temperature conditions.

  • Noise Tolerance: Occasional exposure to moderate noise levels and physical activity.

  • Safety Awareness: Minimal exposure to workplace or environmental hazards and must adhere to all safety protocols.
