Be a critical part of cutting-edge biomedical research! In this hands-on role, you’ll provide daily care, medical support, and expert husbandry for laboratory animals, ensuring their well-being while supporting vital scientific discoveries.
Schedule :Tue-Sat or Sun-Thu 7:30a-4pm (must be open to either schedule)
Type of Job : Contract role (4 months)
Location : Atlanta, GA
Laboratory Animal Technician Daily Tasks: What you will do:
Provide daily care to laboratory animals, including feeding, watering, and cage cleaning.
Maintain accurate medical and research records for all animals.
Sanitize animal rooms, cages, and equipment to ensure a healthy environment.
Operate vivarium and research-related equipment.
Interpret medical orders, calculate pharmacologic doses, and administer medications.
Conduct post-operative exams, evaluations, and data collection.
Assist with transport, receipt, and shipment of animals.
Review and evaluate medical records and research data for accuracy.
Laboratory Animal Technician Qualifications/Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED with ≥2 years lab animal or veterinary experience
Ability to perform physical exams on various animal species.
Ability to lift and handle more than 50 lbs routinely.
Experience with husbandry for large animals, rodents, or in research settings is a plus.
