The Corporate Director, Radiology & Imaging Operations provides systemwide operational leadership for diagnostic and interventional radiology and imaging services across a large, complex multi-hospital and ambulatory imaging network within Emory Healthcare.

  • This role is accountable for the operational and financial performance, workforce strategy, and service growth of imaging services across hospitals, emergency departments, and ambulatory imaging locations.

  • The Corporate Director directly leads modality directors and site leaders accountable for imaging operations and operating unit performance while partnering closely with nursing, physician, clinical and administrative leaders across EHC.

  • In partnership with physician leadership, OU executives, and system partners, this role ensures alignment between systemwide imaging strategy and local operational execution.

  • Through strong collaboration and operational discipline, the Corporate Director advances access, hospital throughput, quality and safety outcomes, workforce engagement, and patient experience across imaging services.

  • Imaging services support highly complex tertiary and quaternary hospitals, nationally recognized interventional radiology programs, as well as community-based hospitals and ambulatory imaging locations across Emory Healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Operational Leadership

  1. Provide systemwide oversight of radiology and imaging operations across hospitals, emergency departments, and ambulatory imaging locations.

  2. Directly lead modality directors and site senior managers responsible for imaging operations and OU-level performance.

  3. Ensure consistent operational standards, workflows, and service delivery across imaging locations while supporting OU-specific needs.

  4. Coordinate operational priorities across clinical, administrative, and operational leaders to ensure systemwide alignment.

Strategic Planning & System Growth

  1. Collaborate with senior leadership to execute EHC radiology operational strategy and support system growth initiatives.

  2. Partner with service lines and clinical programs to ensure imaging services support evolving patient care needs.

  3. Identify opportunities to expand imaging capacity, improve access, and enhance service delivery across the system.

  4. Support strategic initiatives that strengthen integration, innovation, and operational performance across imaging services.

Operational Performance & Continuous Improvement

  1. Drive operational improvement initiatives focused on patient access, hospital throughput, turnaround time, and patient experience.

  2. Establish performance metrics and dashboards to guide decisions and monitor operational performance.

  3. Partner with Operational Excellence and cross-functional teams to identify operational barriers and implement improvement strategies.

  4. Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational discipline across imaging services.

  5. Partner with EHC technology and digital leaders to operationalize diagnostic and interventional imaging technologies that improve clinical quality, workflow efficiency, and patient access.

Financial Management & Operational Sustainability

  1. Accountable for operational and financial performance of imaging services across modalities and operating units.

  2. Monitor productivity, labor utilization, and non-labor expenses to ensure operational sustainability.

  3. Partner with finance, supply chain, and system leadership to support cost management and operational efficiency initiatives.

  4. Participate in vendor evaluation and negotiations in collaboration with centralized procurement and supply chain teams.

Capital Strategy Collaboration

  1. Collaborate closely with system leaders responsible for facilities, equipment, and business support to inform imaging capital strategy.

  2. Provide operational insights regarding equipment utilization, workflow needs, and capacity planning.

  3. Partner with modality directors and OU leaders to support prioritization and operational readiness for capital initiatives.

Quality, Safety & Regulatory Compliance

  1. Partner with radiology quality and safety leadership to drive systemwide imaging quality and safety performance while ensuring compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and safety standards across modalities and operating units.

  2. Promote a culture of patient safety, quality improvement, and operational excellence.

Operational Governance Alignment 1. Lead operational alignment within systemwide imaging governance structures to ensure standardized practices across modalities and operating units. 2. Facilitate collaboration across modality councils, OU leadership, and system teams to advance system priorities. 3. Ensure operational alignment between imaging strategy and local execution.

Workforce Leadership & Culture

  1. Provide leadership and strategic oversight for modality directors and site senior managers responsible for imaging operations.

  2. Foster a collaborative leadership culture focused on accountability, engagement, and operational performance.

  3. Partner with HR and imaging leadership to support workforce planning, recruitment strategies, and staff development initiatives.

  4. Support workforce pipeline programs and educational partnerships that strengthen the imaging workforce.

Physician & Organizational Collaboration

  1. Serve as a key operational partner to radiology physician leadership and clinical stakeholders.

  2. Collaborate with operating unit leadership to align imaging strategy with hospital operational priorities.

  3. Facilitate communication across imaging leadership, physicians, service lines, and system administrative teams.

  4. Support interdisciplinary committees and initiatives that advance imaging integration and performance across the organization.

Additional Duties as Assigned.

Travel: Travel between Emory Operating Units or Emory Affiliated Sites Work Type: Hybrid employee - splits time between working remotely and working in the office.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Education - Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field

Experience -Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare operations, radiology services, or related clinical operational environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education: Master's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field strongly preferred.

Experience: Experience leading complex, multi-site healthcare operations and large operational teams preferred.
