Job Title: Controls Engineer III
Job Description
The Controls Engineer is a tenured technical authority responsible for designing, developing, and implementing SCADA and EPMS solutions, including writing control and logic code from the ground up. This role leads complex deployments, resolves advanced system issues, and serves as a subject-matter expert for customers and internal teams.
Responsibilities
Design and implement SCADA and EPMS architectures for complex facilities.
Develop control and logic code from scratch to meet system and operational requirements.
Lead commissioning, startup, and advanced troubleshooting efforts.
Resolve complex system, communication, and performance issues.
Define system standards, best practices, and control strategies.
Oversee configuration of HMI screens, data models, alarms, and reporting.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to Level I and Level II engineers.
Serve as a technical interface with customers and contractors.
Review and interpret contract specifications and engineering drawings.
Lead documentation efforts, including control narratives and as-built packages.
Support customer training and long-term system optimization.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in SCADA and EPMS systems.
Experience with Ignition Software, HMI/PLCs, and electrical power monitoring systems.
Ability to program from scratch and provide technical leadership.
Advanced knowledge of power systems, power quality, and electrical infrastructure.
Proven experience writing and deploying control/logic code from scratch.
Expertise with Power Monitoring Expert, Power SCADA Expert, and Inductive Ignition.
Strong proficiency in programming languages, databases, and system integration concepts.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
5–10 years of progressive experience with SCADA, EPMS, and systems integration.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 75%.
Work Environment
The position requires up to 75% travel. Candidates will train remotely for 6 weeks prior to being on-site.

This is a Permanent position based out of Atlanta, GA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $125000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
