Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Atlanta, Georgia
Description
We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist in Atlanta, Georgia. This long-term contract position offers an excellent opportunity to play a key role in managing and optimizing the company's accounts payable processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a detail-oriented approach to ensure accuracy and efficiency in financial operations.
Responsibilities:
• Verify and review invoices and check requests to ensure proper coding and approval before processing.
• Reconcile accounts payable transactions, including purchase orders and expense reports.
• Investigate and resolve outstanding balances on vendor accounts promptly.
• Prepare checks and input payment data into the accounting system to ensure timely vendor payments.
• Communicate daily financial totals for account transfers and maintain accurate records.
• Assist with month-end closing tasks, including preparing journal entries.
• Generate ad-hoc reports and other financial documents as required by management.
• Serve as a liaison between vendors and the company to address and resolve invoice-related issues.
• Organize and distribute annual 1099 forms to vendors and dealers.
• Participate in special projects and provide training support to team members as needed
Requirements
• Minimum of 4 years of full-cycle accounts payable experience.
• Proficiency in coding accounts and using accounting software systems.
• Familiarity Great Plains and ERP systems.
• Solid understanding of accounts payable processes and accrual accounting principles.
• Experience with auditing and Automated Clearing House (ACH) payments.
• Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication abilities to collaborate effectively with vendors and internal teams.
• Ability to handle sensitive consumer information, including Social Security numbers and dates of birth
