JOB
SUMMARY
:
Responsible for moving materials into, out of, and within the facility; maintaining knowledge of facility inventory of materials, supplies, and products; providing information for various shipping and receiving documents; and monitoring materials/supplies required for assigned jobs. Transport individuals as needed for appointments/activities and outside/inside cleanings.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform material handling functions to include: Load materials, supplies, products onto outgoing trucks; unload materials, supplies, products from incoming trucks; move materials to and from work stations, storage areas, and shipping areas. May require use of forklift, hand truck, or other material-handling devices.
- Perform receiving functions to include: Check materials, supplies, products received against bill of lading and report non-compliances, shortages/damages to supervisor; place materials, supplies, products received on shelves, racks, or designated floor locations; maintain required documentation.
- Perform shipping functions to include: Prepare and pack products/materials for shipment; provide necessary information for completing ESS/customer shipping documents.
- Assist in the maintenance of material inventory to include: Record receipt or disbursement of inventory items; compare inventory records against physical counts and keep supervisor informed; assist in the performance of physical inventories.
- Safely operate vehicle to pick up and deliver customer material/component parts and finished products and maintain effective working relations with the ESS's commercial customers.
- As requested, transport persons served to and from community appointments and activities, included outside/inside cleanings.
- Serve as materials coordinator for assigned jobs to include: Inspection of incoming materials, supplies, and products for adherence to product specifications and purchase requirements, and completion of required documentation; preparation and processing of required shipping documents; coordination of material needs with customer; assistance in the maintenance of the inventory database for applicable materials, supplies, and/or equipment.
OTHER DUTIES
:
- Participate in the agency's accident-prevention program and actively promote safe practices in the delivery of services and manufacturing of products.
- Appropriately intervene in crises and emergencies, seeking consultation as needed and administer first aid in accordance with established procedures.
- Participate in meetings held for a variety of purposes including production, in-service training,
- Assist Staff as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
:
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Basic math skills
- Fork truck experience/skills
- Good time management skills
Minimum Requirements
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED
:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum one-year experience in manufacturing environment.
Validdriver's license and copy of DMV safe driving record may be required.
Commercial Driver's License (CDL) helpful.
