Your role and responsibilities
As an Account Technical Leader, you will lead IBM's technical strategy and drive tactical engagements with the client, serving as a trusted IT architecture advisor. You will collaborate closely with the client, Technology Sellers, and Brand Technical Specialists to define, document, and execute an IBM Client Technical Strategy aligned with the client’s business objectives, technical challenges, strategies, and priorities.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
Demonstrate how IBM Technology addresses client needs, market dynamics, and industry trends and challenges.
Drive the adoption of innovative strategies using IBM Technology through Technology Decision Points (TDPs), IBM Sales Plays (ISPs), and deep knowledge of clients’ industry and business environment.
Serve as a recognized advocate for cutting-edge technologies and digital transformation, with a particular focus on select strategic technologies.
Lead the technical team throughout the end-to-end sales process to advance and close opportunities, ensuring effective competitive positioning and engaging clients through experiential interactions.
Collaborate with IBM Sales teams and Partner Ecosystem colleagues as required.
Identify, assess, and close new business opportunities across the IBM portfolio for assigned accounts.
Apply appropriate architectural methods, processes, models, and assets to guide solution design decisions.
Leverage broad and deep technical expertise to engage decision-makers and key influencers with highly contextual insights into the benefits of emerging technology adoption and competitive differentiation.
Required technical and professional expertise
Technical Expertise: Over 8 years of experience with deep technical and architectural knowledge across diverse technologies, including cloud, Kubernetes, data, AI, business automation, and infrastructure.
Proven Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate technical sales teams through demand generation, deal progression, post-close deployment, and driving ongoing adoption of deployed solutions.
Client Engagement Leadership: Extensive experience in leading and executing tactical client engagements, ensuring successful delivery of technical solutions and services.
Communication and Collaboration: Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a proven track record of networking, co-creating, and influencing as the technical authority throughout complex technology sales cycles, from closure to post-sale expansion.
Preferred technical and professional experience
• Broad Technology Knowledge: Exposure to a wide range of technology products and services, including data platforms, automation platforms, transaction processing platforms, hybrid cloud platforms, power systems, storage systems, and cloud infrastructure. • IT Architecture Design: Familiarity with designing and implementing comprehensive IT architectures that address business and technical challenges, including experience with software platforms and infrastructure products. • Technical Solution Implementation: Experience implementing technical solutions and leading tactical engagements with clients to drive business outcomes.
