Caterpillar is seeking a Supply Chain Planning Engineer/ Transportation Analyst in Athens, GA. In this role, you are responsible for supporting transportation related activities including the establishment of budgets, monitoring cost variances, and driving efficiency improvement projects related to PQVC. The successful candidate will also work collaboratively across various functional areas and across business units.
What you can look forward to in this role:
Manage communication and collaboration with suppliers, transportation service providers (carriers), Caterpillar facilities, and Caterpillar dealers on identified process defects.
Identify , implement, and monitor process improvements that will enable operations to improve the transportation/ logistics network, reduce risk, and enhance the ability to become a high velocity organization.
Collaborate with transportation supplier base to manage performance and improve current service offerings.
Implement and ensure compliance with safety policies and protection of corporate assets/information Eliminate safety / quality risks and focus on cost optimization for all transportation related activities
Track projects and provide reporting against success *measurements, including quality, velocity, cost metrics *
Identify *operational requirements for procurement bidding activities *
*Provide cost analysis to buyers for potential supplier sourcing initiatives *
*Conduct cost analysis for freight and variance reporting *
*Ensure alignment with local accounting / Business Resources team *
*Define and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) *
*Publish KPI results and root cause and corrective action (RCCA) *
Provide direction and monitor performance of transportation service providers.
*Interact with current transportation supplier base for all modes of transportation to understand and improve current service offerings. *

Supplier Management - MFG: Knowledge of processes and methods to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components; ability to apply related knowledge,experienceand skills into real practice.
Top Candidates for this position may also have:
Bachelor’s Degree or 3+ years of job-related experience
Strong communication skills(oral and written)
Knowledge of one or more of the following: Transportation operations (domestic and/or international), manufacturing operations or service parts distribution, supply chain management, network flows, or data analytics.
Demonstrated strong analytic capabilities, including knowledge, anddemonstrateduse of analytics software (Tableau, Power BI,MiniTab, SAS, or similar tools)
Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal - and excellent active listening skills
Knowledge of Caterpillar North American transportation network
6 Sigma/Lean/CPS experience
Project Management experience

Summary Pay Range:
$97,530.00 - $146,290.00
