CBRE Union Data Center OSP Lead Technician in Ashburn, Virginia

Position:OSP LEAD TECHNICIAN

About theRole:

This role primarilyinvolves the installation and decommissioning of network and cablinginfrastructure within a Data Center environment. A key aspect is the continuouspursuit of sustainable, repeatable, and improved solutions and processes. Theindividual is expected to provide leadership to crews and provide structuredfeedback on project progress to various stakeholders, ensuring high-qualityworkmanship, maintaining Data Center cleanliness, and adhering to allproduction, safety, and quality standards, codes, and industry best practices.The role also requires collaboration with stakeholders to resolve projectobstacles and the ability to read and comprehend blueprints and buildingdocumentation. A broad understanding of Data Center infrastructure technologiesis essential.

WhatYou will Do:

· Must be willing to travel for extended periods of timedepending on project location.

· Be able to work outside in different types of weatherconditions. (Cold, Snow, Rain and heat).

· Experiencein the installation of Maxcell, Microproduct, innerduct and fiber optic cablein a Data Center environment.

· Experiencein fiber splicing and testing.

· Deliversustainable and repeatable solutions and processes, always with an eye on improvement.

· Providestructured feedback on project progress to Stakeholders.

· Exhibitquality workmanship on all work and maintain Data Center cleanliness.

· Followall production, safety and quality standards, codes, and industry best practices.

· Collaboratewith various Stakeholders to remove project obstacles.

· Readingand comprehending blueprints, building documentation/redline work and cableschedules.

· Broadunderstanding of Data Center infrastructure technologies.

What You will Need:

· Knowledgeand use of basic telecom hand tools.

· Mustbe capable of leading a crew of 5-10 technicians.

· Mustunderstand customer service, perform job walks and communicate with customerfor job requirements.

· Acceptresponsibility for the outcome of work performed by him/her and/or by employeethat directly report to him/her.

· Clearunderstanding of job safety requirements.

· Beable to read and understand project design documents.

· Abilityto install various types of innerduct (EX: Maxcell, 1.25” ID and Microduct) andfiber optic

cable.

· Capableof maintaining orderly paperwork, capable of running midsize to large projectsand service jobs.

· Possessskills to dress all types of cable and perform all types of terminations andshould include basic understanding of fiber equipment, all types of cable andfiber terminations.

· Basicunderstanding of both copper and fiber cable testing and troubleshooting.

· Trackand review timesheets for your crew.

· Maintainingpaperwork and running service jobs

· Effectivelycommunicate with Foreman, Leads, Technicians and Superintendent

· Tracklessons learned as they occur

· Coordinateswith QAQC on quality status walks

· Knowledgeand understanding of Project Close Out

· Identifythe strengths and weaknesses of crew members

· Mustbe able to driver company vehicles and the ability to pull and back uptrailers.

· Mustbe able to blow fiber optic cables

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the associate property manager position is $70,000 annually and the maximum salary for the associate property manager position is $85,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program
