Position Overview
This position is responsible for providing operational support in mitigation efforts for clients. Qualified candidates must possess the ability to perform tasks related to emergency Hazmat situations and will be required to use a variety of specialized equipment. The Hazmat Supervisor will oversee Hazmat technicians during field operations and is responsible for all project documentation and support.
Key Responsibilities
Meet with Project Managers, Operations Managers, and customers to obtain a complete understanding of job requirements and documentation.
Clearly communicate job schedules, work plans, remediation techniques, and safety procedures to the crew.
Take disciplinary action when any Technician or Crew Leader is in violation of Company policy or regulatory standards.
Ensure all employees are present with proper identification and that correct job numbers are being recorded.
Ensure all necessary information and regulatory notices are posted correctly on the job site.
Represent BELFOR during regulatory site visitations or third-party inspections.
Perform daily vehicle safety inspections and maintain equipment in clean, serviceable condition.
Comply with federal laws regulating waste disposal methods and record all environmental data.
Sort hazardous waste and drive heavy equipment to convey contaminated materials to designated locations.
Decontaminate equipment or sites to remove hazardous or toxic substances.
Operate machinery to remove, package, store, or transport loads of waste materials.
Report time worked, equipment used, and consumables accurately and timely.

Experience and Qualifications
Must have a comprehensive understanding of customer service principles and practices.
Ability to work under tight time constraints and meet specific project timelines.
Proven experience in supervising teams within a hazardous materials or mitigation environment.
Knowledge of MSDS protocols for chemicals used during the mitigation process.
Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and travel periodically as requested.
Valid driver’s license and ability to operate truck-mounted equipment or forklifts.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to use proper lifting techniques to move heavy materials or equipment.
Ability to work in contained areas and handle cleaning/disinfectant solutions safely.
Frequent loading and unloading of materials into containers or onto trucks.
Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods during emergency situations.
