FLC Farm Worker in Armada, Michigan

REQUIREMENTS: Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be available the entire work period of 2/15/26-11/30/26. Must agree to 40 hr work week. Employer will provide transportation from employer provided living quarters to work site every day. Must read, and agree to, all terms and conditions of employment prior to a referral to the employer.

*SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: *No experience required. This job requires exposure to extreme temperatures, ability to lift 50 lbs., repetitive movements, extensive walking, frequent stooping, extensive pushing and pulling, drug screen, criminal background check and driver requirements.

 *JOB DUTIES: *Handling manual tasks associated with commodity production and harvest activities. Workers will work in the greenhouse planting, watering, filling pots, stacking and carrying flats and baskets. Workers will load and unload trucks and carts, as well as push, clean and repair carts. Workers will work with and lay irrigation tubing and drip lines, clean up and maintain grounds and facility. Workers will work in the field planting, packing, washing, and stacking boxes. Workers will harvest vegetables by hand, will weed by hand and with a long handled hoe. No drinking or smoking allowed at work site or housing. No cell phones are allowed at the work site. It is preferred for workers to have a drivers license, those with a license will make market deliveries. Employer will train for 2 business days in the duties listed. Background checks are required post hire, criminal charges that would result in termination are theft; drugs; and assault. Employer will conduct drug screens post hire and upon accident or incident. Failure or refusal of a drug screen is grounds for immediate termination. Drug screens and background checks are performed at the expense of the the employer.

EMPLOYER ASSURANCES:

BOARD ARRANGEMENTS: Employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities so workers are able to prepare their own meals. The employer will provide transportation to assure workers access to stores where they can purchase groceries.

HOUSING: Employer-provided housing is available for all workers who live outside a reasonable daily driving distance.

TRANSPORTATION TO WORK SITE: The employer will provide transportation for all workers living in the employer-provided housing to and from the daily work site(s).

*WORKERS COMPENSATION INSURANCE: *Provided.

TOOLS, SUPPLIES, EQUIPMENT: Tools, supplies, and equipment needed to complete the job will be provided by the employer at no cost to the worker.
