Smurfit Westrock Regional Maintenance Technician in Arlington, Texas
The Opportunity:
The Regional Maintenance Technician is responsible for hands-on site plant maintenance optimization and reliability for 6 recycle facilities in Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. This person will also execute operational performance programs for assigned recycle plants including improving equipment safety in cooperation with our regional safety team. This role also supports division-wide initiatives related to capital development and deployment and Performance Excellence programs.
Major Job Responsibilities:
Implements recycle plant equipment maintenance optimization and reliability procedures in collaboration with stakeholders across the division.
Responsible for preventative maintenance and project milestones.
Demonstrates a safety first mentality and supports culture of safety, ownership, quality, and operational performance with metrics, engagement and accountability of self and others.
Ensures assigned facilities are aligned with other recycle plant operations and have consistent understanding of equipment success criteria and measurements including common equipment performance metrics and KPI\u2019s.
Minimize and control downtime events and achieve uptime and equipment capability performance goals. Work closely with plants to support a common preventive maintenance program for each site in assigned region.
Actively participate in six sigma, DMAIC and Kaizen projects.
Understands and communicates equipment optimization priorities in collaboration with plant operations.
Applies lean manufacturing principles when identifying and sharing SOP\u2019s and best practices.
Works closely with peers and manager to ensure appropriate coverage and resources across all Recycle plant operations.
Creates an atmosphere that encourages engagement and drives results.
Champions projects and tasks in accordance with Smurfit Westrock\u2019s policies and procedures to motivate and foster teamwork.
Educates others providing on-going feedback and support to improve equipment performance.
Identifies opportunities to develop and improve skills and behaviors in support of plant, regional, and divisional success.
What You Need:
7+ years relevant experience
7+ years of operations, maintenance, project management experience
3+ years of experience of remote troubleshooting
Ability to travel, sometimes on short notice, up to 50-75% of the time.
Performance excellence experience and mindset
Working knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics and electric with ability to read schematics and troubleshoot
PLC operating and control system experience including data acquisition platforms preferred
Familiar with networks and IP addressing preferred
Experience in recycling operations preferred.
