The Department of Civil Engineering in the College of Engineering, at the University of Texas at Arlington, invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate who will be working in the areas of improving forecasts of weather, climate and snowpack, and testing experimental Forecast-Informed Reservoir Operation in the Hydrometeorology Research Group..The incumbent will be working in the areas of remote sensing, improving forecasts of weather, climate and snowpack, and will contribute to Texas Forecast Informed Reservoir Operation Pilot..PhD in Hydrology, Meteorology, Climate Science or a related field.Experience in earth system modeling, data assimilation, and remote sensing of land surface variables.Experience with parallel computing on high performance cluster.Proficiency in C, Fortran, and Python.Good verbal and written communication skills..Experience with developing and running high-fidelity earth system/weather models.A track record of publications in well recognized journals.
