Responsibilities:
Summary: Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Entertainment Costume Wardrobe team. This position is responsible for the planning and ongoing costume design, upkeep, and production that meets the Six Flags Over Texas standards for show quality, durability, safety, and performer use.
Qualifications:
Skills and Qualifications:
Degree in Costume Design, Fashion Design, or Theatrical Production preferred or equivalent in professional experience.
Has expert knowledge of garment construction, alterations, repair, fittings.
Working knowledge of pattern making and draping is a plus
Prior leadership experience strongly preferred
Strong understanding of entertainment workflow from design through rehearsal, run, upkeep, and strike.
Strong working knowledge of fabrics, trims, accessories, and specialty fabrics
Exceptional organizational skills
Familiarity of wig care and styling is preferred
Self-Motivated skills to work independently without direct supervision
Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, mornings, nights, and holidays
Excellent written and verbal communication
Valid Driver’s license
Must have ability to read, speak, and comprehend the English language
Ability to assess and resolve issues using sound judgment in both routine and time-sensitive show support situations
Ability to work in both indoor shop settings and outdoor active park environments
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb stairs/ladders as required
Regularly lift and carry up to 40lbs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Operating sewing equipment including but not limited to industrial sewing machines and sergers.
Overseeing Entertainment Costume Wardrobe Production and Operations Leads.
Costume design and purchasing
Addressing and resolving daily operational challenges
Managing department operations including staffing, scheduling, budgets, vendor coordination (if necessary), and show readiness planning.
Maintaining the structural integrity and design of the Licensed Characters
Reports to the Show Senior Supervisor and Entertainment Manager
Track expenses, manage purchasing documentation, and support cost control practices aligned with department goals
Recruit, schedule, train, supervise, and evaluate Entertainment costume wardrobe staff based on seasonal park needs
Assign work, manage deadlines, and prioritize projects to support performance schedules and operational requirements.
Support additional Entertainment Department needs as assigned or necessary to support the park as a whole.
Lead with professionalism, accountability, and solutions-focused mindset
