Job Title: General Laborer
Job Description
The General Laborer supports day-to-day operations in a machine shop by monitoring and maintaining coolant and lubricant systems, assisting with light preventative maintenance, and keeping the work area clean and safe. This role works a full-time day shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
Check and maintain machine water and coolant levels twice per day to ensure proper machine operation.
Inspect and top off machine oil levels daily to support reliable equipment performance.
Clean, drain, and change out old coolant tanks as needed to maintain system efficiency and cleanliness.
Assist maintenance mechanics with light preventative maintenance tasks according to established schedules and procedures.
Monitor coolant systems and perform basic coolant management activities, including fluid checks and adjustments.
Support basic mechanical troubleshooting under the direction of maintenance personnel.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area around machines, tanks, and coolant systems, following 5S principles.
Work around grinding machines and other machine shop equipment while following all safety guidelines.
Report equipment issues, irregularities, or safety concerns promptly to maintenance or supervision.
Follow all maintenance schedules, shop procedures, and safety protocols consistently throughout the shift.

This is a Contract position based out of Arlington Heights, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00/hr.
