TheCity of Arkansas City, Kansasis seeking an experienced and forward-thinking professional to serve as its nextPublic Services Superintendent.

Reporting directly to the City Manager, this executive leadership position oversees the Citys Public Services Department, including Streets, Stormwater, Sanitation, and Parks & Facilities operations.

The position provides a unique opportunity to lead essential municipal services while helping guide the long-term planning and maintenance of infrastructure that supports residents, businesses, and regional employers.

Arkansas City is seeking a leader who brings technical expertise, strategic vision, and collaborative leadership to continue delivering high-quality public services and infrastructure stewardship.

The Public Services Superintendent provides executive leadership and operational oversight for the Citys Public Services Department.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Bachelors degree in public administration, public works management, civil engineering technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Five years of progressively responsible municipal public works or public services experience
  • Three years of supervisory or management experience
  • Valid drivers license
  • Ability to obtain a Class B CDL within the required timeframe
