48 hours per week, Mon - Sat, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Duties may include assisting with daily farm operations, including operating agricultural equipment such as combines, farm tractors, and farm trucks for planting, spraying, cultivating, fertilizing, and harvesting crops. Employees will haul lime and fertilizer, operate equipment using modern agricultural technology, maintain flood and sprinkler irrigation systems, handle and haul grain and other farm commodities, and maintain farm grounds including mowing. Employees will perform other miscellaneous farm duties as assigned and related to agricultural equipment operator activities. Work may include weekends and holidays. Crops include wheat, rye grass, soybeans, and sugar beets.

Minimum Experience Required

The position requires a minimum of two (2) months of related work experience. Employees must be at least eighteen (18) years of age and must provide proof of legal authorization to work in the United States within three (3) days of hire. Employees must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to fifty (50) pounds and perform physically demanding work including climbing, walking, standing, reaching, balancing, sitting, stooping, bending, squatting, washing, and cleaning equipment, grounds, and work areas. Work will involve repetitive movements, extensive sitting and walking, and exposure to variable and extreme outdoor weather conditions. Employees must be able to obtain and maintain a valid U.S. driver’s license within two (2) weeks of reporting to work, possess a clean motor vehicle record, and be able to communicate in English while on the job. Employees must be able, willing, and qualified to perform the work described and be available for the entire period of employment.

Additional Compensation

As required for all workers in Minnesota, hours worked in excess of 48 hours in a work week will be paid at the rate of 1.5 times the regular rate of pay.

EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $16.28 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts. Required work-related tools and supplies provided free of charge by employer.

Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year.
