Senior Accountant - Contract
Location: Onsite (Minnesota or Wisconsin)
Duration: Approximately 6 months, open-ended
Compensation: Up to $53.50/hour
This contract Senior Accountant role partners closely with accounting leadership to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of financial planning, processing, and reporting. The position supports financial analysis, reporting, and special projects while helping bring structure and accuracy to accounting processes. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently while collaborating with a broader finance team.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and analyze financial statements and supporting schedules
Perform account reconciliations and assist with audit requirements
Support policy accounting and research regulatory guidance for compliance matters
Manage accounting and reporting activities for a related foundation entity
Review financial reporting for completeness and accuracy
Assist with regulatory and tax reporting initiatives
Contribute to process improvements and special projects from start to completion
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
High level of initiative, organization, and attention to detail
Ability to manage priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
5-10 years of progressive accounting experience
Insurance or financial services experience required
CPA or CPA candidate preferred
Strong financial statement knowledge and analytical skills
