TITLE: V Process Grinder REPORTS TO: Grinding Supervisor STATUS: Hourly Non-Exempt Full-Time APPROVED: May 15, 2025 PAY RANGE: $20.00 - $23.78 SUMMARY To efficiently utilize the proper casting finishing practices and techniques which satisfy the customer and/or subsequent process operations. Involves grinding castings of advanced complexity. Straightening castings and finish grinding casting to customer specifications.
Sort castings into batches to be sequenced through the department.
Work as part of a team towards producing Quality parts to production standards.
Maintain tools and equipment in proper safe working condition.
Perform minor maintenance on grinders cleaning, replacing discs, belts, etc.
Learn to use various hand tools.
Learn to read technical documents.
Learn to use various measuring instruments.
Work to posted standards and instructions.
Straighten, gauge and patch when necessary to meet specifications.
Inspect parts to posted instructions.
Learn gross casting defects and be able to identify them, informing the lead person or supervisor immediately.
Follow all health and safety rules.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor. EDUCATION REQUIREMENT
High school diploma or equivalent REQUIRED SKILLS
Ability to work and communicate well with others
Ability to follow instructions
Legible handwriting
Keep a neat and clean work area. PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT Physical Demands This position requires constant standing for 8 12 hour shifts, pneumatic and electric powered hand tools and the ability to lift up to maximum of 50 lbs. consistently. Working Conditions The employee is exposed to an environment where hearing protection, eye safety, safety shoes and other personal protective equipment (PPE) is required. During warm & humid weather, employee is exposed to higher heat risks due to ambient temperature along with generated heat from equipment
