Abstract
The Principal serves as the educational leader and chief administrator of the school, responsible for implementing and managing the policies, regulations, and procedures of the District. This role is dedicated to providing an educational atmosphere where students reach their full academic, social, emotional, physical, spiritual, and cultural potential. The Principal is responsible for leading an instructional program that results in student success and ensuring all staff acquire, master, and apply strategies that advance the District's vision, mission, values, and goals.
Primary Responsibilities
(All work responsibilities are subject to performance goals and targets established via the annual performance planning process.)
- Instructional Leadership: Leads the development, implementation, and evaluation of instructional activities to ensure a climate of meaningful, engaged learning.
- Curriculum & Assessment: Oversees the selection and modification of instructional resources; leads the assessment of curricular needs and implements data-driven improvement plans.
- Staff Supervision & Evaluation: Provides regular observation and feedback to certified and classified staff; promotes professional growth and ensures instructional fidelity.
- Student Achievement: Assumes primary responsibility for school-wide student performance goals; ensures growth is continuous and appropriate across all classifications.
- School Culture: Fosters a positive, safe, and disciplined environment; implements Board policies regarding student conduct and maintains order in a fair and just manner.
- Communication: Communicates effectively and transparently with students, parents, staff, the Superintendent, and the community.
- Collaboration: Facilitates professional learning communities (PLCs) and collaborates with District leadership to enhance the educational environment.
- Professional Standards: Models the highest ethical standards; serves as a mentor to staff and an advocate for the school community.
- Operational Management: Maintains efficient record-keeping, manages the building budget, honors schedules, and ensures regular and predictable attendance of self and staff.
- Community Engagement: Establishes and maintains cooperative, culturally responsive relationships with parents and local stakeholders.
- Other Duties: Performs additional leadership responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent.
Education and Certifications
The Building Principal will meet all qualifications and standards set by the State of Wyoming and District performance expectations:
- Master's Degree (minimum) in Educational Leadership or Administration from an accredited college or university.
- Valid Wyoming Administrative Certificate with a Principal endorsement.
- Successful experience in teaching and/or prior school leadership.
- A completed personnel file that meets District standards.

Terms of Employment
7:50 am to 3:50 pm (subject to after-school events), Contract days 210 days per Administrative Schedule, Certified Administrative Salary Schedule.
