Abstract:
The Teacher is responsible for providing an educational atmosphere where students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for academic, social, emotional, physical, spiritual and cultural growth. This person is responsible for organizing and implementing an instructional program that results in students achieving academic success. The teacher will acquire, master, and apply with fidelity those strategies that advance the District's vision, mission, values, and goals.
*Primary Responsibilities: * The Secondary Mathematics Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality mathematics instruction to students in grades 7th-12th, fostering a positive learning environment, and supporting the academic and personal growth of all learners. The teacher will plan and implement engaging lessons aligned with curriculum standards, use data to inform instruction, and contribute to the wider school community.
Instruction & Curriculum
- Plan, prepare, and deliver structured and engaging mathematics lessons aligned with national/state curriculum standards.
- Teach a range of secondary mathematics courses (e.g., Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Statistics).
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs, including support for struggling learners and extension for advanced students.
- Integrate technology, manipulatives, and innovative teaching practices to enhance learning.
Assessment & Reporting
- Develop and administer assessments (formative and summative) to measure student mastery of concepts.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide timely feedback.
- Prepare grade reports and communicate student performance effectively with students, parents, and school leadership.
Classroom Management
- Establish clear expectations for behavior and maintain a safe and respectful classroom environment.
- Implement effective classroom management strategies to support productive learning.
Professional Responsibilities
- Participate in professional development, department meetings, and collaborative planning sessions.
- Stay current with developments in mathematics education and evidence-based teaching strategies.
- Contribute to the development and review of curriculum materials and departmental initiatives.
- Uphold school policies, procedures, and values.
Community & Extracurricular Engagement
- Support school events, parent meetings, and extracurricular activities as required.
- Offer additional support such as tutoring, math clubs, or competition coaching (optional based on school needs).
Qualifications & Requirements:
Essential
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification/licensure for secondary mathematics (or eligibility to obtain).
- Strong knowledge of secondary mathematics content and pedagogy.
- Effective communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
Preferred
- Master's degree in Education or Mathematics.
- Experience teaching secondary mathematics in a classroom setting.
- Familiarity with modern instructional technology and digital learning tools.
- Experience with differentiated instruction or inclusive education strategies.

Terms of Employment
7:50 am to 3:50 pm, 185 Days, certified salary schedule.
