Eaton Corporation Continuous Improvement & MES Engineer in Arad, Romania
The Continuous Improvement & MES Engineer is responsible for driving operational excellence through Lean and Six Sigma methodologies while supporting the development, optimization, and sustainability of Manufacturing Execution System (MES) processes. This role ensures that improvement initiatives are data driven, standardized, and integrated into digital workflows. The position partners with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Logistics to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and support the plant’s digital transformation agenda.
What you’ll do:
Continuous Improvement – Responsibilities
Identify process inefficiencies and improvement opportunities through data analysis, shop floor observation, and structured assessments.
Lead & help support functions with Lean and Six Sigma improvement projects (Kaizen events, 5S, VSM, SMED, problem solving).
Maintain process standards, workflows, and best practices to ensure sustainability.
Support deployment of continuous improvement frameworks.
Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks, variability, quality problems, and waste.
Support dedicated functions for time studies, process mapping, root-cause analysis, and statistical evaluations.
Manage CI projects from scoping to implementation and validation of savings.
Work collaboratively with production, maintenance, quality, logistics teams.
Support prioritization of CI initiatives based on business impact and strategic objectives.
Train employees on Lean tools, problem solving methods
Ensuring digital technologies(I4.0) are applied safely, ethically, and sustainably to improve industrial processes.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement, digitalization, and process discipline.
MES – Responsibilities
Collaborate with support departments for MES requirements, workflows, and data structures.
Helps in MES deployment and integration accross production areas within the plant
Support configuration, testing, rollout, and continuous improvement of MES modules (traceability, quality checks, work instructions, OEE, scrap, downtime).
Train production and office staff on MES functionalities and digital procedures.
Troubleshoot MES-related process issues and support change management activities during updates.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
Experience in manufacturing or a process-driven environment.
Experience with MES and digital manufacturing tools preferred.
Skills:
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles (5S, Kaizen, VSM, SMED, Kanban).
Industry 4.0
Understanding of Six Sigma methodologies (FMEA, capability studies).
Hands-on experience with MES systems (implementation, workflows, troubleshooting).
Analytical skills with proficiency in Excel; Power BI/Minitab is a plus.
Ability to interpret production data and derive actionable insights.
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.

Ability to collaborate across departments
Strong ownership, initiative, and results orientation.
