ITW Mechanical Designer - Industrial Equipment & Automation Division in Appleton, Wisconsin
Job Description:
Miller Electric, an ITW company, is seeking a Mechanical Designer to join the Industrial Equipment and Automation team. As a Mechanical Designer, you will play a key role in finalizing our component models and prints to industry standards. This role will also need a lot of attention to detail to keep our documentation consistent across the company. This individual needs a thorough understanding of Solid Works or equivalent 3D modeling software and it’s PDM system. This role also requires an immediate knowledge of dimensioning and tolerancing to ensure proper fitment and avoid tolerance stack-up. We are also looking for an individual that is capable of using advanced modeling techniques and functions.
How you will Make an Impact:
Model and Print Finalization
Collaborate with engineers, materials & manufacturing – ensuring that documents are accurate and current.
Create, modify, and release prints and models within the Solidworks and PDM environments.
Attention to Detail
Catch and correct any fine missing details within a complex print
Ensure our prints meet industry standards for drafting along with specific requirements for various manufacturing processes
Documentation Leader
- Become a subject matter expert on how we layout our documentation for consistency across the company.
What you need to do to be successful in this role :
Detail Oriented: Demonstrate the ability to accurately create documentation/prints consistently with industry accepted mechanical design standards
Highly Motivated: Take initiative and effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously from start to completion.
Effective Communicator : Exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to present to large groups.
Collaborative: Maintain open communication with all stakeholders to address challenges and share successes.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
3D CAD Modeling Experience
Experience with PDM and ERP Systems
Thorough understanding of an Engineering Change Process and Bill of Materials
Microsoft Office
Preferred:
Associate’s degree in mechanical design, drafting, or similar
Familiar with ASME y14.100
Solidworks Experience
Solidworks PDM Experience
AutoCAD Experience
Formal Drafting Training
D365 and Omnify Experience
GD&T Experience ASME Y14.5
Basic grasp of machine and component design
Basic understanding of sheet metal manufacturing and design
Basic understanding of circuit and wiring diagrams
Basic Understanding of Injection molding design
