Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a team in Apopka, Florida. In this Contract to potential long-term position, you will play a key part in managing financial processes and ensuring accuracy in accounting operations. This position is ideal for someone with strong expertise in QuickBooks Desktop and intermediate proficiency in Excel.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
• Perform general ledger coding and reconciliation to ensure proper categorization of financial data.
• Handle job costing activities to track and allocate expenses effectively.
• Reconcile credit card statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Utilize QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Enterprise for daily accounting tasks.
• Assist in month-end and year-end financial closings.
• Analyze financial data and provide reports to support decision-making.
• Collaborate with team members to improve accounting workflows and processes.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Requirements • Proven experience in accounting roles, preferably in the construction industry.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Enterprise.
• Strong understanding of general ledger coding and journal entries.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including formulas and data analysis.
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and credit card reconciliation.
• Familiarity with job costing and expense allocation.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
