Job Description:

Shift: Monday - Friday, 9:45am - 6:15pm

Responsible for assisting the Pharmacist in preparing and dispensing medication to ensure consistent patient care. This position facilitates the transfer of maintenance medications directly with members. Additionally, this role requires understanding all pharmacy processes related to prescription order entry, claims adjudication, fulfillment, and shipping prescriptions. In addition, this position answers incoming calls into the transfer call center. Responsibilities for this role include performing supportive duties under the supervision of a registered Pharmacist. This role does not perform duties that can only be legally performed by a registered Pharmacist.

This position will be remote after successful completion of 90 days onsite training

  • Enters new prescription orders ensuring all information is correct, including patient details, drug, medication directions, refills, and physician selection.

  • Selects correct medications when processing or filling prescriptions, ensuring accuracy and proper inventory management.

  • Works to meet daily production goals without distractions and contributes to team efficiency.

  • Achieves call center goals by handling calls effectively and reducing abandonment rates.

  • Communicates thoroughly with members regarding prescription plans, prior authorization processes, and step therapies.

  • Explains the prescription transfer process clearly to facilitate mail-order transfers.

  • Keeps records of daily transfer metrics and ensures pharmacists have necessary information for prescription transfers.

  • Monitors own queue to ensure timely completion of order entry, adjudication, and corrections.

  • Communicates effectively with customers and team members regarding prescription questions and follow-ups.

  • Minimizes errors and uses failed orders as learning opportunities for improvement.

  • Selects appropriate shipping methods for orders, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to pharmacy service standards.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • High School Grad or Equivalent [Required]

Work Experience:

  • 1+ retail, mail-order, or hospital pharmacy experience or completion of a pharmacy technician student internship in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting in lieu of experience. [Required]

  • Previous experience in a call center environment [Preferred]

  • Previous experience in Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM), managed healthcare service organization, insurance company, or other health related entities [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT) [Required]

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) [Preferred]

Pay Range:

$18.14 - $29.02
