The team you will be a part of
The Quality Assurance team analyzes and implements quality standards for components, materials or services. Applies measures, sampling methods, testing methodology and other procedures to ensure that quality standards are met. Prepares reports and recommends improvements. Collaborates with suppliers and ensures effective corrective actions are implemented when needed and contributes to supplier quality improvement programs
This role in summary
Works directly with the supplier as the single quality contact for Whirlpool (Supsa Plant). Drives the supply base toward operational excellence by developing their ability to improve quality through effective preventive and problem-solving tools and techniques, including timely PPAP evaluations and rigorous containment escalation procedures. Assures application of tools and processes with suppliers, maintaining focus on proactive prevention and predictive work while ensuring compliance with Global Supplier Quality Manual and zero production line impacts.
Your responsibilities will include
This role will lead the Steel, Metal Stamping and Metal Components commodities and will make sure the suppliers meet the highest standards of product quality. The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer acts as a technical expert leader in metalworking processes and an agent of change to drive continuous improvement across the supply chain.
Serves as the initial quality contact responsible for executing APQP requirements for Low Risk NPI parts, ensuring a Safe Launch
Responsible for monitoring and improving monthly supplier performance at the plant by driving supplier systemic improvements and implementation of global tools and processes (8Ds including WCM problem solving metodology).
Works with suppliers to develop robust manufacturing processes using qualification tools (PFMEA, Control Plan, Process Map, etc.) while using Opex Six Sigma tools.
The role is responsible for short-term issue resolution enabling long-term solutions, managing Audits at the Supplier process and developing TCQ projects. Responsible for First Pass Yield ensuring Business Continuity and PPAPs On Time.
Minimum requirements
Engineering Degree (Materials)
Project Management - Major Project Launches
Product Engineering
OPEX Sig Sigma Black Belt certified or trained
PFMEA, Control Plan, Process Flow Diagram (PPAP)
Experience in Steel, Metal Stamping and Metal Components Industry.
Experience working in manufacturing engineering related field
Experience working in supplier quality engineering
