The team you will be a part of
The Engineering team discovers, develops and evaluates new product ideas, enhancements, or strategic product extensions, and translates research discoveries into usable and marketable products. Leads, plans and tracks all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace. Coordinates with various functions to ensure successful product development and implementation.
This role in summary
Responsible for all (Consumer Product Group) chemical product development, performance evaluation and MOB. Requires a strong knowledge of project execution and design development —including design scope, timelines, and cost, assure products meet Whirlpool standards and government regulatory — you will lead and plan all phases of the project in collaboration with a cross-functional team.
This opportunity is located in the city of Apodaca, Mexico and it is part of the NAR business Unit.
Your responsibilities will include
Collaborate closely with suppliers on the joint development of new cleaning products.
As the chemical expert, provide the necessary technical expertise to the legal team for defining and substantiating product claims, ensuring they align with the specifications delivered by the CPG marketing and sales teams.
Maintain the cleaning product line.
Support product packaging requirements
Maintain a current knowledge of the competitor chemical products
Work closely with Procurement to have the best products available at the best price
Work seamlessly with all CPG engineering members
Develop and maintain CPG chemical safety
Responsible for design test plans and identifying new procedures to evaluate product performances.
Responsible for GLS/Biofilm test plan and procedure definition of new washer models
Collaborate with the CPG CAD and PA teams to manage the engineering work necessary for the release of all pertinent technical documentation.
Lead Technical Stage review
Document failure modes in an DFMEA
Demonstrate project management skills to drive projects through the design, testing, and implementation phase in a timely manner.
Support the scoping of future portfolios in the 5 year product plan
Minimum requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, or a related field in Engineering
Minimum 3+ year of experience
Ability to work cross-functionally and influence others (finance, technical team, ..)
Great learning attitude
High analytical skills, critical thinking and structure
Advanced English
Preferred skills and experiences
Experience in chemicals space
PMP
OPEX / Green belt
Fundamentals of detergents, fabric softeners, and appliance cleaning products.
Understanding of product regulatory standards
