Reports directly to and takes direction from the Executive Director.
This position will coordinate the maintenance and repair on the property including the grounds and the museum facility, as well as the set-up and breakdown of special and property rental events. Hours may vary depending on the event and property rental schedule or season.
Major Responsibilities/Duties:
Management and supervision of the maintenance, repair and housekeeping of all Society and Museum property and equipment.
Opening/closure and security of all gates and buildings in preparation for daily business.
Maintain and clean event storage areas.
Monitor, maintain and care for all motorized and mechanical equipment, including scheduling of required maintenance and assuring adequate security of all equipment.
Provide support for set-up and breakdown of special events and property rental event spaces.
Ensure trash receptacles are checked/emptied throughout the day.
Ensure that ground trails are free of trip hazards and all other potential safety hazards are removed from public areas.
Assist in the placement of signs, banners, and cleaning parking areas and grounds for special events and activities.
Prepare and submit monthly reports on activities to the Executive Director.
Maintain outdoor areas in a safe, attractive condition. This includes but is not limited to mowing, tilling, and weeding.
Requirements:
Lift minimum of 50-60 lbs. frequently
Valid Drivers License and insurable
Able to work outdoors in heat or cold
Ability to operate hand and power tools
Must work nights and weekends as needed
Knowledge of basic plumbing, simple electrical, and carpentry
Present and punctual as scheduled and maintain attendance
Small engine working knowledge
Mechanical knowledge
Ability to operate a variety of machinery (tractor, lawn equipment, skidloader)
Handyman capabilities
Good communication and time tracking skills
Working landscaping knowledge
Must be a self-starter with the ability to plan facility work to accommodate public hours, critical thinking skills are a must along with follow-through and attention to detail
Must be able to work independently and with others
