Amentum MSC Riding Gang Supervisor in AP, United Kingdom
Amentum, a global leader in advanced engineering, technical, and professional services serving the U.S. government, allies, and critical infrastructure sectors, is seeking an MSC Riding Gang Supervisor to support a unique U.S. Navy program based on the island of Diego Garcia.
Job Responsibilities
Serve as the primary supervisor for Riding Gang personnel performing maintenance, preservation, repair, and operational support aboard MSC vessels.
Coordinate daily work assignments, schedules, and task execution for multi‑trade Riding Gang teams while vessels are underway or in port.
Oversee preservation, mechanical, structural, and general maintenance activities in accordance with MSC, Navy, and industry standards.
Ensure proper use of tools, materials, PPE, and equipment, maintaining accountability and readiness of all assigned gear.
Inspect completed work for quality, safety, and compliance with technical specifications and mission requirements.
Maintain accurate logs, reports, and documentation related to Riding Gang operations, labor hours, material usage, and safety compliance.
Support onboarding, training, and safety briefings for Riding Gang personnel.
Coordinate with ship leadership, engineering teams, and Amentum management to align Riding Gang activities with vessel maintenance schedules and operational priorities.
Ensure all maintenance and preservation activities comply with environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Provide regular updates to leadership regarding project progress, personnel status, and operational impacts.
Minimum Requirements
3 years of experience in shipboard maintenance, preservation, repair operations, or related maritime fields.
High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in marine maintenance, preservation, or technical trades preferred.
Must possess a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.
Passport must be valid for at least one year beyond hire date.
Ability to meet and maintain contract medical requirements for the duration of assignment.
Ability to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience supporting MSC, maritime operations, shipboard maintenance, or Riding Gang programs.
Familiarity with Navy maintenance standards, preservation requirements, and shipboard operational procedures.
Strong leadership, communication, and documentation skills.
Experience supervising multi‑trade maintenance crews in shipboard or industrial environments.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to obtain country‑specific visas per the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.
