The AGN Network Engineer will join the ARINC Global Network Engineering team within our Networks and Connectivity Engineering business unit. The ARINC GLOBAL Network (AGN) seamlessly unites the flow of data across the aircraft, airline and ground applications. The AGN system is comprised of several private data centers and connects to the far reaches of the globe, in almost every country providing aviation, airport, government, and transportation connectivity. AGN provides private networking in a highly reliable, secure and available world-wide network architecture for Collins Aerospace, CAS mission critical aviation, transportation, and airports customers.
In this role, you will support the Network Engineering team by assisting with the setup, testing, and maintenance of networking systems and lab environments. This role focuses on hands-on activities such as configuring and troubleshooting equipment under guidance, documenting results, and helping ensure smooth integration of network components. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, detail-oriented, and able to work closely with senior engineers to gain exposure to real-world networking projects in a collaborative environment.
What You Will Do:
You will work onsite 4 days a week at our Annapolis, MD site.
Assist in building and maintaining lab and test environments, including racking, cabling, and configuring equipment under supervision.
Support execution of integration and test activities by setting up scenarios, capturing logs, and documenting results.
Perform basic troubleshooting of network hardware and software issues with guidance.
Install, configure, and verify operation of network devices (routers, switches, firewalls) using standard procedures.
Maintain clear documentation of configurations, changes, and test outcomes.
Collaborate with senior engineers to support project work, including test events and small-scale deployments.
Learn and apply standard network monitoring and analysis tools (SNMP, syslog, Netflow, Wireshark).
Participate in bug/issue reporting and track resolutions through closure.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and less than 2 years prior relevant experience
Familiarity with IP networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, subnets, OSI model).
Exposure to common networking hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) and structured cabling.
Ability to perform basic troubleshooting of hardware/software issues using documented procedures.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Curiosity, willingness to learn, and ability to follow documented procedures.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Experience supporting lab or test environments.
Exposure to LAN/WAN technologies and network management concepts (SNMP, Syslog, Netflow).
Active CCNA certification or equivalent advanced network certification highly preferred.
Ability to multitask across small projects and work with multiple stakeholders.
Familiarity with Linux/Unix command line.
Exposure to scripting or automation tools (e.g., Python, Ansible).

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
