Your Impact at SAM

The SUE Project Manager is responsible for leading and managing Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) projects from initiation through completion. This role ensures all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Serving as the primary liaison between SAM and our clients, the SUE Project Manager oversees both field and office teams while contributing to business development and staff growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead SUE projects from kickoff to completion, ensuring adherence to quality, budget, and schedule

  • Prepare and manage project proposals, contracts, budgets, schedules, and billings

  • Sign and seal plats, field notes, and control drawings as required

  • Plan staffing needs, allocate resources, and oversee multiple concurrent projects

  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships; pursue new business opportunities

  • Deliver project updates, technical reports, and presentations to clients and stakeholders

  • Coordinate with sub-consultants, partners, and internal teams for seamless execution

  • Monitor and report financial performance, including AR, WIP, and billing cycles

  • Represent SAM at client meetings, industry events, and trade shows

  • Support other operational teams and contribute to company-wide goals

What You Bring to SAM

  • Previous industry related work experience in a professional or management capacity

  • Knowledge of SUE practices and applicable standards (ASCE 38-22 preferred)

  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, schedules, and client relationships

  • Proficiency with CAD, GIS, and utility data management platforms

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
