LimnoTech has an exciting opportunity for an early career environmental, water resources, or coastal engineer to help meet ongoing/expanding project needs. The selected candidate will work in-person at our Ann Arbor, MI location. Position Responsibilities The engineer hired will work closely with other team members to support a variety of interesting and innovative projects in LimnoTech’s service areas. Typical job responsibilities include the following, depending on individual ability, skills, and experience:
Coastal restoration design and planning
Watershed, stream, lake, and related ecosystem restoration design and planning
Stormwater management design and planning
Green infrastructure design and planning
Hydraulic and hydrologic (H&H) evaluations and modeling
Computer Aided Design (CAD)
Combined sewer and stormwater investigations,
Surface water and collection system hydraulic and water quality modeling, including model input development, model calibration, model application, model output evaluation, and presentation of results,
Field data collection,
Large dataset management and analysis.
Our engineers and designers work closely with senior staff to develop sound approaches for addressing our clients’ problems. Initial tasks are likely to include restoration design support, watershed characterization and assessments, water resources risk evaluations, water quality data management and analysis, modeling support, and assistance with field work. Responsibility and opportunities will be commensurate with experience and capability. Opportunities abound for increased responsibilities and professional growth. Requested Qualifications The following are required qualifications for this job position:
Bachelor’s degree in civil/environmental engineering (Civil, Water Resources, Environmental, or Coastal) from an accredited university program is required. A Master’s degree is a plus.
Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential, as are strong analytical and computational abilities.
Must be legally able to work in the U.S. for any employer (proper documentation is required).
Strong analytical and computational abilities (MS Excel, Google Sheets, and Python and/or R)
Effective at synthesis of technical information to a broad audience.
Entry level (0-2 years) suitable, 2-5 years of professional experience preferred.
Candidates with 2-5 years of professional experience should have completed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
The following experience, training or familiarity is desired, but not required:
Experience in restoration, water resources, or coastal design.
Familiarity or experience with the topics mentioned under “position responsibilities.”
Ability to do occasional field work.
Training or experience in hydrologic, hydraulic, or water quality modeling.
Experience with AutoCAD.
