Akima Warehouse Specialist (USAF base warehouse) in Andrews AFB, Maryland

Position reports to the Project Manager, Supply Manager, and Operations Manager. Responsible for satisfactory completion of all assigned tasks. Responsible for proper issue, storage, warehousing, and material handling techniques. Ensures pick-up, delivery, and operational procedures are followed IAW the Performance Work Statement (PWS). Ensures processing, care, and protection of all supplies and equipment. Provides customer support to the 459th Airlift Wing, 316th Wing, and National Capital Region (NCR) personnel. Other duties include cycle counting, physical inventories, safety, housekeeping, and recycling (normal and pallet). Handles stock with utmost care, accurately verifies put-away, prevents damage to assets, and ensures inventory accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties IAW DAFMAN 23-300, applicable Technical Orders, and other governmental publications.

  • Process customer requests and receipts using ILS-S Supply, ILS-S Mobility, BLADE, and other USAF Standard Base Supply Systems.

  • Move property to storage areas and delivery areas for distribution.

  • Provide secure storage and handling of classified, pilferable, mobility, and sensitive items.

  • Accurately initiate inputs to add, change, or delete warehouse locations on item records.

  • Maintain the central locator listing.

  • Perform and document annual inventories of assigned warehouse assets as required.

  • Validate warehouse locations and assist the inventory element with cycle inventories.

  • Verify shipments, issue, and movement of assets with the utmost accuracy.

  • Accountable for meeting safety performance standards and completing all work safely.

  • Perform all essential tasks related to directives in Contractual Performance Work Statements as directed by Operations or Supply Managers.

  • When assigned, monitor and maintain gas mask serviceability, including leak testing, sanitizing, and documentation, ensuring gas masks are tested every two years from the initial inspection date.

  • Assign and maintain permanent warehouse locations for serviceable items IAW DAFMAN 23-300 and establish temporary reserve locations when required.

  • Initiate warehouse refusal procedures IAW DAFMAN 23-300.

  • Ensure correct items and quantities are selected prior to shipment and maintain proper custody chain of controlled materiel.

  • Operate lightweight motor vehicles and material handling equipment such as forklifts and stock selectors.

  • Assist the main Mobility Element for exercises and mission support when required.

  • Perform standby support and occasional weekend work as assigned.

  • Report accidents, injuries, near misses, and hazardous situations in a timely manner.

  • Maintain good housekeeping and OSHA standards at all times.

  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of two (2) years supply knowledge; USAF supply experience preferred

• Must be a U.S. Citizen

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Knowledge of governing supply regulations, procedures, and instructions preferred

• Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 40 lbs

• Requires a valid Class C driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

• Must be customer service oriented and possess good communication and mathematical skills

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
