This role requires the ability to quickly establish rapport with students, maintain continuity of learning, and adhere to the policies and procedures of the school. II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities •Instruction and Learning: oImplement lesson plans, instructions, and materials provided by the absent teacher in a manner that maximizes student learning time.oPresent subject matter (e.g., Math, Science, English Language Arts, Social Studies) using a variety of instructional techniques that meet the diverse needs of 6th-grade students.oMotivate students to participate and maintain focus on learning objectives.oDocument and report any material not covered, challenges encountered, or necessary follow-up for the returning teacher.•Classroom Management:oMaintain a positive, safe, and orderly classroom environment conducive to learning, strictly following the school's behavior policies.oTake attendance and complete all required administrative tasks accurately and on time.oSupervise students during non-instructional times, including lunch, recess, hallway transitions, or during assigned study halls, as required.•Professional Conduct:oAdhere to all school and district policies, regulations, and ethical guidelines.oMaintain the confidentiality of all student and school information.oCollaborate professionally and courteously with fellow staff members, including administrators and support personnel.III. Qualifications •Required: oCertification: Valid New York State Teaching Certificate oExperience: Prior experience working with children or adolescents, preferably in a classroom or supervisory setting.oSkills: Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills. •Preferred:oExperience teaching at the middle school level (grades 6-8).oFamiliarity with Google Classroom and classroom technology.
