Raytheon is seeking a Sr. Quality Analyst to join the Radio Frequency Components team supporting semiconductor and MMIC inspection operations in Andover, MA . As a core member of the Operations Quality team, you will operate as an established and productive professional contributor who applies theoretical to advanced knowledge of semiconductor inspection and quality analysis. You will work autonomously with limited supervision, handling moderately complex assignments and influencing decisions across the work area.
What You Will Do
Perform test and analysis of GaAs/GaN MMIC die per MIL-STD-883, using technical judgment to identify subtle or difficult‑to‑detect defects and nonconformances
You will analyze inspection results and quality data using statistical process control (SPC) methods to identify trends, defect drivers, and improvement opportunities. You will influence decision‑makers with recommended courses of action based on your analysis.
You will work to achieve day‑to‑day objectives that have a moderate impact on the work area, and you will set goals for your own areas of responsibility that align with project and program objectives.
You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to address inspection escapes, rework, and scrap. You will support root‑cause analysis and help drive corrective‑action efforts.
You will support die qualification activities, coordinating tasks, reviewing data, and ensuring alignment with engineering and customer requirements.
You will apply discretion and judgment to evaluate nonconforming material and inspection results, and you will recommend courses of action to engineers based on your interpretation of data and criteria.
You will make minor improvements to inspection systems, documentation, and processes to enhance effectiveness and reduce the risk of quality escapes.
You will maintain and update inspection and qualification databases, ensuring accuracy, data integrity, and traceability for engineering and internal customers.
You will communicate with teams inside and outside your immediate work area, explaining policies, practices, and procedures to ensure alignment and to support informed decision‑making.
You will train and mentor inspection personnel on MIL‑STD‑883 inspection techniques, cleanroom standards, and FOD/ESD practices.
You will participate in reviews and audits, including change control boards and qualification review boards, providing inspection insights and supporting compliance efforts.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years prior relevant experience, OR an Advanced Degree in related field, OR in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required
Experience in semiconductor manufacturing OR experience in quality or process engineering in a manufacturing environment
Experience working and handling products in a cleanroom environment
Experience with III-V compound semiconductor devices including Gallium Nitride (GaN) and/or Gallium Arsenide (GaAs)
Experience performing testing and analysis per MIL-STD-883 die visual criteria and/or microelectronics defect classification using high-power microscope inspection
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to participate in and lead cross-functional teams focused on solving technical problems
Experience with PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, and Out of Control Action Plans (OCAPs)
Experience working with DoD — DCMA and Missile Defense Agency (MDA)
Compliance audit experience — ISO 9001/AS9100, AS9102 First Article Inspection Reporting
RCCA methodologies such as 8D, Fishbone, 5-WHY, Fault Tree Analysis
Experience maintaining quality or inspection databases (SAP, MES, or equivalent)
Existing U.S. DoD Secret (or higher) clearance

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
