TEKsystems Helpdesk Engineer in Andover, Massachusetts

Position Overview

The Tier 2 Help Desk Analyst provides advanced technical support for end users in a Windows-based environment. This role serves as an escalation point for Tier 1 issues, resolves complex desktop and system problems, and leverages PowerShell scripting to automate tasks, troubleshoot issues, and improve operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier 2 technical support for Windows-based desktops, laptops, and applications.

  • Serve as an escalation point for Tier 1 Help Desk issues requiring deeper technical expertise.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware, software, and operating system issues.

  • Use PowerShell to automate routine tasks, user management, system maintenance, and reporting.

  • Support user account administration in Active Directory, including account creation, permissions, and group management.

  • Assist with Windows OS installations, upgrades, patching, and configuration.

  • Support Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint.

  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to printers, network connectivity, and peripheral devices.

  • Document solutions, procedures, and scripts to improve knowledge sharing and team efficiency.

  • Collaborate with Tier 3 teams and other IT groups on system-wide issues and projects.

  • Follow ITIL-based ticketing and escalation procedures while meeting SLA requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 2–4+ years of experience in a Help Desk, Desktop Support, or IT Support role.

  • Strong experience supporting Windows operating systems in an enterprise environment.

  • Hands-on PowerShell experience for automation, troubleshooting, and administrative tasks.

  • Solid understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, and user/access management.

  • Experience with ticketing systems and remote support tools.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze and resolve technical issues independently.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong customer service mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365 and Azure AD environments.

  • Familiarity with endpoint management tools (Intune, SCCM, or similar).

  • Knowledge of basic networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP).

  • IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft, or equivalent experience.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Andover, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
