Responsible for instruction of literacy, adult basic education, college readiness andGEDpreparation instruction at outreach locations, such as the Butler Service Center, Wichita locations, and the Butler Andover campus. In addition to basic skills instruction, other content such as basic technology, work readiness, and Accuplacer preparation will be taught as needed. Act as the liaison between the outreach location, additional outreach location staff and Butler of El Dorado Center to effectively and efficiently provide Adult Education services. Instructor will be held accountable for students acquiring the state average in educational gains plus the four primary goals set by the National Reporting System. Will work as a team with the director, data entry person and other instructional staff to develop curriculum, administer appropriate assessment(s), conduct follow-up, and to maintain and update records required for effective and efficient delivery of program services. Instructor may be asked to occasionally substitute for other instructors. Perform routine office procedures as needed. Program standards require the employee to actively participate in professional development activities for Kansas Board of Regents trainings. Outreach locations include Wichita and surrounding areas. This position is for evening and weekends, with a potential for some day time hours. This is a grant funded position.\ \ Andover 4-8 pm Tuesday and Thursday Wichita 1230-330 pm Tuesday and Friday
Thorough knowledge of subject matter; thorough knowledge of competency-based instruction; basic computer skills; human relations skills; flexibility in modifying workload and schedule to meet peek demands; competency in teaching developmental, Pre-GED,GED, technology, pre-employment, and advanced transitional skills; ability to create individual study plans based on special needs of students or individual differences and individual goals.
Previous teaching experience with adults ages 16 and over; experience with competency-based instructional methods; developmental education experience preferred.
Part Time; # hours per week - 10-15 hours/week Must be available for evening classes and weekends
