Job Title: Maintenance Electrician
Job Description
The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing production machinery and facility equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime. This role combines approximately 60% electrical and 40% mechanical work and requires strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and general mechanical systems. On off-shifts, you will focus heavily on preventive maintenance while also handling a wide range of facility needs, from restroom repairs to advanced electrical troubleshooting up to 480 volts.
Responsibilities
Install, maintain, and repair production machines and plant facility equipment to support safe and efficient operations.
Perform diversified maintenance duties on pouch and bag-making equipment, reroll/slitter machines, lamination systems, and bubble roll equipment.
Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues, including three-phase power and 480-volt systems.
Swap and replace motors and related electrical components as needed.
Execute scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) tasks on machinery, equipment, and plant facilities according to established maintenance plans.
Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs during production, as well as scheduled maintenance during planned machine service periods.
Perform basic machinist duties, including minor fabrication, adjustment, and repair work to support equipment reliability.
Read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and work orders to determine required maintenance and service procedures.
Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test equipment, and make necessary adjustments to restore optimal performance.
Utilize a variety of hand tools, power tools, and material handling equipment safely and effectively to complete maintenance tasks.
Detect faulty operations, unusual conditions, or defective materials and promptly report issues to appropriate supervision.
Support general facility maintenance needs, including basic plumbing, carpentry, and other building systems as required.
Collaborate with other maintenance technicians across shifts to ensure smooth handoffs and consistent equipment performance.
Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety procedures and lockout/tagout practices.
Essential Skills
Advanced understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques within an industrial manufacturing environment.
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, including experience with three-phase power and 480-volt systems.
Hands-on experience performing preventive maintenance on production machinery and facility equipment.
Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
Mechanical aptitude in machinery, plumbing, carpentry, and hydraulic systems.
Ability to perform basic machinist duties and use a variety of hand and power tools safely.
Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, technical documentation, and work orders.
Capability to diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test equipment, and make necessary adjustments.
Ability to work independently on a shift and handle both production equipment and general facility maintenance tasks.
Ownership of a basic set of personal tools suitable for industrial maintenance work.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in an industrial electrical setting, including troubleshooting and maintaining production machinery.
Familiarity with pouch and bag-making equipment, reroll/slitter machines, lamination systems, or bubble roll equipment.
Experience with HVAC systems in an industrial or manufacturing environment is a plus.
Comfort working across multiple disciplines, including electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respond effectively to urgent maintenance needs.
Good communication skills to coordinate with production staff and other maintenance team members.
Commitment to safety practices, including proper use of PPE and adherence to lockout/tagout procedures.

Work Environment
This is a full-time 2nd shift position, working Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Training will take place on 1st shift for approximately three months before transitioning to 2nd shift. The maintenance team is structured with multiple technicians on 1st and 2nd shifts, with an additional technician being added for 3rd shift to support around-the-clock operations. The role is based in an industrial manufacturing facility with production machinery such as pouch and bag-making equipment, reroll/slitter machines, lamination systems, and bubble roll equipment. You will work in a hands-on environment using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and material handling equipment. The setting requires adherence to standard industrial safety practices and appropriate work attire suitable for a manufacturing floor.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $58427.20 - $65436.80/yr.
