Job Description
This position is primarily responsible for overseeing the payroll process. The Payroll Lead works closely with personnel at all levels to facilitate the time collection and payroll process to ensure that employees are paid in an accurate, timely and efficient manner. Attention to detail, strong problem solving, analytical and communication skills are critical for this position. Reports to the Corporate Controller.
Responsibilities
Ensure Successful weekly time sheet uploads.
Maintenance of electronic time keeping system and employee self service module ensuring updated data is transferred regularly for projects and employees.
Coordinate with corporate controller to ensure correct periods for labor, leave and payroll postings are open and used by the payroll staff.
Direct payroll functions to ensure all line items are properly coordinated (labor, leave, corrections, terms, payroll postings, allowances, garnishments, voluntary & involuntary deductions, etc.) for each payroll cycle.
Training and cross training of the accounting staff to ensure adequate coverage of all payroll technician duties.
Benefits deduction reconciliations, arrears collections, employer contribution corrections and out-of-pocket payments.
Working with Finance team to provide requested audit information.
Communicate with employees regarding leave balances, PTO accruals, payroll deductions, etc...
Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit’s success also may be assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma/GED required.
CPP certification.
Minimum five (5) years payroll experience.
Basic understanding of benefits and related deductions.
Basic understanding of projects / contracts.
Must be able to manage multiple deadlines in a high pressure environment
Must be willing to work overtime when needed.
Advanced Skillset in Microsoft Office Suite (primarily Word, Excel, Outlook).
View Point experience preferred.
