Insight Global Electrical Engineer II in Anchorage, Alaska
Job Description
Insight Global is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support our telecommunications client in Alaska. This role will be mainly remote and focus on small-scale infrastructure projects supporting satellite communications, including the deployment of satellite dishes and Low Earth Orbit (LEO) and Geostationary Earth Orbit (GEO) systems. The engineer will be responsible for electrical design, power systems, and material specifications supporting these installations.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with AC and DC power systems, conduit design, and battery-backed power solutions, along with the ability to produce clear electrical designs using tools such as Microsoft Visio.
Day-to-day:
• Design electrical systems for small-scale satellite and telecommunications infrastructure projects
• Support deployment of satellite dishes, including LEO and GEO systems
• Develop conduit layouts, electrical schematics, and design documentation using Microsoft Visio
• Create material specifications and support procurement for electrical components
• Design and support AC and DC power systems, including battery and backup power solutions
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and project teams to ensure successful deployments
• Perform testing, troubleshooting, and validation of electrical systems to ensure reliability and compliance

Skills and Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• 4–10 years of engineering experience
• Telecommunication industry experience
• Experience with small scale telecommunication installations such as cell sites, satellite deployments, LEO installations
• AC/DC power distribution and power systems/batteries • EIT or Professional Engineer (PE) license
• CAD or Visio design experience
• EIT or PE
