The HollyFrontier Companies Construction Group Supervisor in Anacortes, Washington
Basic Function Oversees and monitors multiple aspects and activities of the Capital Projects Construction Group. This includes construction of capital projects, Non-Routine Maintenance (NRM) projects as well as tank maintenance projects. The Construction Group Supervisor is a visible field representative that oversees construction execution and supports the interface between the construction contractors and the HFS organization. The Construction Group Supervisor will plan, monitor, assist, and audit the contractor(s)' execution to assure that they are performing within the established policies, procedures, work practices and project specifications. The Construction Group Supervisor will work to assure effective communications are occurring between affected HFS teams and the construction contractors and their sub-contractors, and that all construction work is delivered on-time and on-budget with a focus on safety and quality. Job Duties ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: (functions considered essential as defined by ADA) Manages front line supervisors and contractors in the Projects Construction Group and other departments including company union employees, maintenance contractors, safety personnel, and quality assurance personnel. Assists in the coordination of all construction activities with operations, maintenance, and turnaround. Monitors contractor schedule and cost performance, resource loading, quality of work, etc and shares any concerns with appropriate stakeholders. Ensure that contractors meet their submittal and reporting requirements as outlined in the construction contracts; ensure efficient handling of field RFI's and Change Orders Develops and tracks Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) to drive accountability and improvements in contractor performance. Assists in the development of works scopes for various staff and contractors, ensures work is free of defects and completed per job scope, specifications, and implements industry best practices Recommends organization and strategy required to ensure staff and contractor performance by filling approved positions with competent personnel, setting high standards and expectations for work performance, and allocating resources according to the production group's priority Maintains open communications with the construction contractors, Capital Projects Manager, Maintenance Manager, Turnaround Manager, field coordinators, project managers, project controls, projects safety representative, Production Team and technical support groups. May assist in the estimating, planning, scheduling and execution of non-routine and tank maintenance tasks or turnarounds from the planning stages through field execution. Chairs the Tank Steering Team, including leading the regular meetings, managing tank maintenance plans and tank maintenance schedule, per GENMTPOL001. Develops the following year's XO budgets for non-routine maintenance projects and tank inspections. Experience A minimum of 10 years related experience required, or 10 years total refinery/petrochemical industry experience with five years in a supervisory capacity, depending on assignment is required. Education Level A Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience is preferred. Required Skills Ability to lead and direct the work of others. Proficient with spreadsheet, database and word processing applications Strong multi-tasking, organizational, interpersonal, analytical, problem solving and decision making skills. Ability to read and interpret documents such as: safety rules, operating and equipment maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, equipment and process drawings (P&ID's, PFD's, piping isometrics, electrical schematics, etc) Working knowledge of construction supervision and activities, planning/scheduling, field execution, turnarounds, maintenance reliabili
